Title : E003-0000 is displayed upon recovery from sleep mode
Error :
E003-0000 is displayed upon recovery from sleep mode

Workaround :
When a machine is in sleep mode and is recovered an error code "E003-0000" was displayed. It is caused during the fixing temperature control at recovery from sleep mode, electrical noise affected the thermistor.

In order to increase the length of time for idle rotation of the drum (by 30 sec) at start-up and prevent electrical noise from affecting the thermistor, make the following selection:
Service mode (Level 2)> COPIER> OPTION> BODY> DRM-IDL = change the setting to '3'

Note: The length of time for idle rotation is being increased by 30 sec. This mode will delay start of the machine by 30 sec.

Title : E003
Error :
E003-0000 Error Code can be displayed when the reading of the main thermistor is below 70 deg. C for 2 sec. after it has exceeded 100 deg. C.

Workaround :
1. Although the fixing heater or the temperature-detecting thermistor may be faulty, before replacing these parts, check J508 on the DC controller PCB for poor contact and refit it if necessary.
2. Make the following selections to clear the error code: [Service mode > COPIER > Function > CLEAR > ERR > OK]

Error :
E004-0001 Error Code is displayed indicating a short in the main heater circuit.

Workaround :
Check the Main Heater Lamp for burnt (black) ends indicating an arc or short.
Replace the Main Heater Lamp; part number FH7-4719-000. Also check for damaged wiring to the Main Heater Lamp.

Note: to clear the error perform (COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR).

Title : Error Code E005-0099
Error :
The error code E005-0099 will not reset in service mode COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR. The E005 indicates the fixing web has run out. In this case the web was only half way used and the fixing web detecting lever was positioned correctly. The end user indicated the error occurred when a print job was paused.

Workaround :
The error cleared after turning the copier on with the finisher off. The copier was turned off, the finisher turned on, then the copier and the machine operated normally.

Machine will alternate between E010 and E065 .

Workaround :
When you are getting this alternating error code of E010 or E065 you must check to see if you are getting 24vdc to main motor and HVDC board .  The simplest way to do this is by going to the HVDC PCB  and check J 721 pins 1 and 2 for 24vdc .  If not there go to J 1723 on Relay PCB and OHMS check pins 1 and 2 for continuity. This is your manual feed tray cover open/closed detection switch.  If good, check pins 5 and 7 that's the front door open/closed detection switch.  If either of the switches has an open it will not power the relay for output to main motor and HVDC pcb.  In our case we had a bad manual feed open/closed detection switch.

Title : In Service Mode, Getting The Message Waste Toner Container Is Full
Problem :
Only in service mode is the message being displayed, "Waste Toner Container Is Full ".

Error code E013 and E019 do not show up at all in the Error history in service mode. Error Clear and DC CON Clear have been performed in service mode. The Waste Toner Container is empty. Sensor PS 19 (Waste Toner Full sensor) has been replaced. Microswitch 2 (MSW2) the Waste Toner Lock sensor, is operating properly. Connectors J512 and J514 on the DC CON PCB were reseated. In service mode > Copier > Counter > MISC > WST-TNR has been reset to 0 and Copier > Counter > H-DRBL-2 > W-T-PIPE has been reset to 0.

Solution :
In this case, Sensor PS 19 in I/O Mode of service mode was in a state indicating that the Waste Toner Case Is Full and not changing state when the sensor was blocked and then unblocked.

(To check PS 19 in I/O Mode enter service mode level 1 ( * 2 8 * ) > Copier > I/O > DC CON > P003 > bit 7.
A state of 0 for bit 7 indicates the Waste Toner Case Is Not Full.  A state of 1 for bit 7 indicates the Waste Toner Case Is Full.)

In the process of tracing the wiring for sensor PS 19 back to J514 of the DC Controller PCB, it was discovered that the interim connector, J261, in the Waste Toner Bottle Assembly, was unplugged.
After re-connecting the interim connector J261, the message in service mode " Waste Toner Container Is Full ", cleared out; Bit 7 for P003 in I/O Mode was at a state of 0.  Service issue was resolved.

Please refer to the illustration below for the location of the interim connector J261 and sensor PS 19:

Title : E020-0009
Error :
Error code E020-0009 could occur due to toner being packed in the tube from the toner bottle to the developer hopper. This will not allow the toner auger to turn and binds up the buffer motor (M18). You may also notice that the toner bottle will not spin. With the buffer motor removed and power off you will not be able to turn the auger by hand.

Workaround :
Remove the auger from the copier and try to vacuum out the tube to ensure no toner has hardened inside. Reinstall the auger and ensure that you can turn freely by hand.

Title : Error Code E020-0008
Error :
An error code of E020-0008 is generated when a fault is detected with M22. The symptom in this instance was intermittent. M22 activated in parts check and the technician stated that there seemed to be no mechanical binding in the assembly.

Workaround :
The solution for this instance was to reseat the paddle in the hopper assembly. Upon further inspection of the hopper assembly, it was noticed that the paddle had become dislodged causing it to bind periodically.

Title : E020-0008
Problem :

An E020-0008 is when the toner feed motor is driven and a fault is detected for 3 seconds or more for the (M22) Motor. The error code of E020-0008 still occurred at power up after replacing M22.

Solution :
In this case, replacing the developer unit resolved the issue.  The part number for the developing assembly is FM2-4872-000.

Title : Intermittent, E025 Error Codes are Occurring
Problem :
E025 is displayed on the Control Panel. This code refers to the Toner Bottle Rotation Motor M23. The code may or may not be a "Hard" failure. The motor M23 as well as the DC Controller were replaced in an attempt to solve the error code to no avail.

Solution :
The Cartridge Motor (MSW8) drive switch was found to be bad. The switch was loading down the voltage to the motor causing it to error out.

MSW8 was replaced to resolve this issue. The part number for the switch is FK2-0384-000.

Title : E110-0000 when machine goes into high speed rotation.
Error :
E110-0000 when machine goes into high speed rotation.  Machine will also lose the 24vdc and 38 vdc at this time .  If you go into service mode, machine will go to ready and you can check motors, clutches and fans but when you exit you will get an E025-0001.

Workaround :
Replace the separation fan, M13 . Part number is FH6-1942-020.  Found that if we ohmed the blue and red wire going to motor it was aprox 15 ohms a good one should read aproximatley 6k OHMS

Title : E500 Error Code And Suspended Message
Error :
The imageRUNNER will display either an E500 error code or a message of "suspended" on the panel. The problem had been occurring intermittently, about once per week. An E500 error code indicates a communication failure with the Finisher. The system software had been flashed, and the cabling was verified as good.

Workaround :
The solution to the intermittent E500 codes, was to simply reseat the EEPROM on the Finisher Controller. After reseating the EEPROM, the E500 error code, and the "suspended" message did not return.
